2010 Junior Golf Programs
The Aurora Golf Club is excited to announce that we will be offering five different Junior Programs for the 2010 season. All of our junior programs will come under the guidance of our new Director of Golf, PGA Professional Jimmy Beers who was recently awarded the Northern Ohio Professional Golfers Association 2009 and 2010 Junior Golf Leader Award.
Program # 1 Advanced Junior League AGES 12 - 16
We will offer a 6 week Junior League for juniors with previous golfing experience. Starts on Tuesday, June 22 and concludes on Tuesday, July 27, 2010.
We will meet at 10:00 AM each week. Pick up time will be between 1:00 & 2:00
Week # 1 Stroke Play to determine Golf Handicap
Week # 2 Stroke Play round # 2 to determine Golf Handicap
Week # 3 Match Play; Junior VS Junior just like the Ryder Cup
Week # 4 Scramble (4 juniors on a team)
Week # 5 Alternate Shot with Parent or Grand Parents
Week # 6 Championship Round
The cost for this program is $150 per junior. The price includes 6 – 9 Hole rounds of golf during league play. We will offer brief clinics and skill challenges each week with prizes given away weekly. We will instruct the juniors on all the different formats of playing golf. Weekly contests include; Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Chipping and Putting contests. On the last week, we will set up a real putt-putt course on the practice green.
All parents are invited to play with their junior on Week # 5.
This program is designed to prepare your junior golfer for junior tournaments and High School golf teams.

Program # 2 Beginner Junior Golf 101 Ages 6 - 16
Our beginner junior golf program will feature a 6 week program with clinics and play dates. This program will also be on Tuesday mornings starting on June 22 and conclude on Tuesday, July 27, 2010.
We will meet at 10:00 AM each week. Pick up time will be between 1:00 & 2:00
The cost of this program will be $125.00 per junior.
Week # 1 Introduction to Junior Golf
Week # 2 Putting lessons, putting drills and a putting contest
Week # 3 Chipping lessons, chipping drills and a chipping contest
Week # 4 Iron Lessons, drills and a closest to the Pin contest
Week # 5 Driving lessons, drills and a long drive contest
Week # 6 Final week we will learn to golf during a playing lesson
This program is designed for the beginner junior golfer. We will focus our teaching on all the fundamentals of the golf swing. We will offer fun contests and competitions to keep your juniors in tune on how fun the game of golf can be.
