Class Descriptions

YOGA

(Please bring a mat and water bottle to each class. Both are available for purchase and mats are also available to rent for $2 if you prefer. All other equipment is provided.)

Our yoga classes are designed for all levels. Whether you are new to yoga or looking to advance your previous practice, our yoga instructors will adapt and modify the class to meet your needs. All classes are taught in a warm room to help lengthen muscles and improve flexibility. We hope you will find these classes nourishing to the body, mind and spirit. Our goal is to have you leave each class feeling energized and uplifted.

  • Yoga Basics: Poses move at a slow and deep pace promoting increased flexibility without injury. Teacher will give plenty of instruction to be sure you are properly aligned in each pose. If a more challenging pose is demonstrated, variations/modifications will be offered allowing all students to work at their own level and beginners to feel welcome. You will leave this class feeling physically stronger and mentally refreshed.
  • Slow Flow Yoga: Class begins with centering and then shifts into a slow moving yoga series that invigorates and strengthens, while offering a deep stretch that promotes mobility and healing in the body. You will gently unwind and relax into the poses so you can experience the benefits of each pose. This class encourages holistic yoga by integrating poses, breath practices, meditation and relaxation. All levels and fitness abilities will appreciate what this class has to offer.
  • Power Vinyasa Yoga: This class is a fun, challenging, faster-paced workout that improves your overall strength as you flow from pose to pose. You will develop better balance, range of motion and stamina while doing the basic yoga poses (asanas) at a moderate pace. A focus on healthy alignment and yogic breathing helps foster mental and physical awareness and flexibility. Toxins are released as you sweat during this workout (classroom temperature approximately 85 degrees). Your mind will appreciate some time for meditation and relaxation as well. This class is open to students of all levels.

CARDIO & SCULPTING

(Mats could be used in these classes with the exception of Zumba. Water bottles are necessary. Both are available for purchase and mats are also available to rent for $2 if you prefer. All other equipment is provided.)

These classes burn lots of calories and increase strength and metabolism. Each class has a different style, but all of them are fun and challenging at the same time. Terrific music coupled with lots of comradery makes attending these classes something you will truly enjoy! And the results of looking and feeling better will have you returning week after week.

  • Zumba: This class combines traditional dance steps with basic fitness moves so everyone can participate. Set to a fusion of Latin, international, and current pop music, Zumba is a fun cardio workout during which you can burn 500-1000 calories in just one hour! The sweating, dancing and occasional shouting involved in Zumba will release stress and tension in your body while the constant movement will help improve your muscle tone and overall strength. The class ends with a cool down and stretching. Come join this dance party and enjoy an exciting and dynamic workout!!
  • Zumba Toning: Our Toning class takes the high cardio energy work of the original Zumba class and combines it with body sculpting exercises to create an ultimate caloric workout. (2-3 pound weights are available for use)
  • Tone and Burn: This class is a high intensity workout that is designed to exhaust every muscle group. There will be intervals of cardio and strength training using a variety of equipment and techniques to challenge your entire body. The instructor can offer ways to modify the more difficult moves so students of all fitness levels will receive a workout that is just right for them…but everyone should come prepared to work hard!
  • Power Sculpt: This is a strength training class that utilizes a variety of equipment and movements to give you a total body workout. The instructor includes abs and core work as well to make sure all muscle groups are challenged. Proper form is emphasized to help you meet your fitness goals faster. Feel like you have a personal trainer without the expense!
  • Pilates: The Pilates program accommodates both beginners to advanced participants. Using Joseph Pilates method of body conditioning, this class focuses on improving overall strength, challenges your core, improves posture, flexibility and balance all while giving your muscles a longer leaner look.
  • Circuit Training: This class provides a great full body workout as you continually move through a series of stations designed to elevate your heart rate and challenge your muscles. Improve your strength, agility, balance, etc. as you work your way through this circuit of exercises timed in specific intervals. A great class for all levels from beginners to advanced lifters looking for an athletic-based workout. Mostly a strength class, with some cardio bursts mixed in, you'll focus on proper form and pushing your body to the limit for this 75 minute class.

CHILDREN’S CLASSES

  • YogaKids: The YogaKids® program is about learning. Children naturally respond to learning that is presented in interesting, fun and integrative ways. YogaKids® incorporates the two processes that kids respond to best: sound and movement while using the body as the main component of education. Using traditional yoga poses, breathing techniques, and relaxation through music, storytelling and more, these classes will foster strength, coordination, flexibility, and self-control. Students will assume the shapes of various animals and plants while exploring areas such as kindness, peace, inner strength and empathy.   • Gym Junior: This fun, energetic, educational, toddler fitness program is designed to introduce children (ages 3 and under) to a healthy lifestyle early on. By introducing movement and exercise-based activities they will increase their awareness of their bodies; advance hand/eye coordination, work on balance, utilize all major muscle groups, keep their cardiovascular system healthy, as well as improve their socialization skills. They will even be learning their shapes, colors and counting! Keeping kids moving and engaged through music and activities is the key to ensuring exercise is fun and will attract them to an active lifestyle. Children learn best through example, so the program encourages parents to participate during class. Not only will they enjoy some quality time with their children, but parents will also benefit by burning calories themselves!
