he ability to play a bunker shot with confidence can be a big stroke saver for any golfer.

In this shot it is important to concentrate solely on getting out of the sand and onto the green. Don't worry about getting the ball close to the pin.

As with all the shots in this series the keys to success are first to master the basics and then practice and more practice.

Club Selection

Use a normal grip

Stance

Ball position is middle to middle back

Club face square for a ball that is only partially embedded, to slightly closed for one that is substantially buried
